What vaccination do I need for a Hajj or Umrah visa?
Meningitis ACWY with a quadrivalent conjugate vaccine is required for Saudi visas. It must be given at least 10 days before arrival and within the previous 5 years, and the certificate is issued at the same appointment. Hepatitis A, typhoid and seasonal flu are also worth discussing depending on your plans.
How do I get to the clinic from Wembley Park or Wembley Central?
From Wembley Park take the Metropolitan line a few stops to Harrow-on-the-Hill, then walk up into Harrow on the Hill High Street. From Wembley Central the Bakerloo line and Overground run to Harrow and Wealdstone. By car it is about 15 minutes on Harrow Road, the A4005, and Wembley Hill Road.
Is the yellow fever vaccine suitable for everyone?
Not always. It is licensed from 9 months of age, and age, pregnancy, immune conditions and some medicines all affect suitability, which is why every traveller is assessed individually before it is given. How soon before travelling to Africa should I book?
Four to six weeks ahead is a good target, and sooner if a course needs more than one dose. Yellow fever needs a clear 10 days between vaccination and arrival for the certificate to be valid, so that date drives the plan. Later appointments are still worth booking.
Which vaccines do children need for a trip to East Africa?
Routine NHS childhood immunisations come first, then travel vaccines are added by age and itinerary. Most travel vaccines are licensed from 1 year and yellow fever from 9 months. Bring the red book so previous doses are counted, and each child is assessed separately.

Some are. Combined Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid are NHS-funded for certain destinations through GP practices. Yellow Fever, Rabies, Hajj jabs, Japanese Encephalitis, Hepatitis B for tourism and others are private. If you have time it is worth asking your GP about the NHS-funded ones first.
